Superfield is an audio-visual environment composed of a series of soundtracks which originate from Hollywood cinema. Dialogue has been stripped away, leaving behind only the sound that renders the space in which the films take place, a synthetic environment intended for an absent narrative.
The work asks—in what way can the space of a film be occupied, and who has access to such a space? How do we locate ourselves within the space and time of cinema?
This work currently exists in the form of a videogame, an excerpt of which is seen in the video above. The game was used as a site for a live audio performance Orange and Teal, broadcast on Radiophrenia in May 2019.
